Meet Mike Gunther, one of our most seasoned Recruiters with a long resume of successful recruits in his decade-long time with the PACE team. Mike came to PACE with a strong background in account management and having just completed a year long “contract” role on the recruiting team at Microsoft. Mike’s enthusiasm, dedication, and passion for making a difference in people’s lives quickly landed him a spot on the PACE team!
In the decade he has worked for PACE, he has had both employer and candidate facing roles. On the employer side his clients come from a diverse group of Northwest companies – manufacturing, technology, marketing, healthcare. On the candidate side he’s found homes for candidates looking for their first career opportunity out of college to seasoned leaders advancing their careers into Director level roles. He’s done it all.
Mike’s boss considers his ability to find candidates with specific skillsets is what makes him a key player on our recruiting team. “Having hired and worked with Mike for 10 years…his ability to find a “needle in a haystack” is what sets him apart. If a client needs to fill a difficult, one-off role, Mike’s the one to get the job done! He’s dedicated, hardworking, very conscientious and a big asset to our team and PACE customers!”

Outside of work, Mike is a music enthusiast and a vinyl records collector. He cherishes family time with his son, Jaxon, creating new adventures and experiences with his wife, Stacey. Stacy is a well known local musician and hosts an annual charity concert benefiting Toys For Tots, showcasing Mike and Stacey’s commitment to giving back to the community.
Being a WA state native, Mike is a big fan of most local sports. He’s particularly excited about having professional hockey in the PNW. Golf and the occasional tennis match also make it to his list of must see events. And oh yes, there are those craft beers he loves to sample and compare notes about with friends.
Mike holds an associate degree in Radio & Television from Centralia Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in History, with a Communications Minor from the University of Washington. An interesting fact? Mike earned his varsity letter as a freshman on his high school golf team and represented his school at state tournaments in both golf and tennis.
